In a fiercely contested soccer match on April 18, the Grand County Red Devils secured a narrow 3-2 victory over the Beaver Beavers [Yes, seriously—look it up! -ed.] Jake Mason sealed the win with a crucial goal for Grand County. This marked Grand County’s fourth consecutive home win, boosting their record to 9-2. The match ended the Beavers’ four-game away game win streak, leaving them at 7-4. Additionally, seniors were recognized for their contributions in a heartfelt Senior Recognition ceremony, adding an extra layer of significance to the match.
The match was one win in a seven-match winning tear, notching victories against South Sevier, Gunnison Valley, Parowan and San Juan County.
The Red Devils will compete in the second round of the USHAA 2A boys’ soccer championship on May 1 at 4 p.m.
