In Memory Of Violet Boothe

October 1, 1930 – February 10, 2024

Violet Boothe peacefully departed this life on February 10, 2024, at the age of 93.

Born in 1930, Violet was the seventh of 10 children and was cherished as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Growing up, Violet looked up to her hardworking mother, who taught her invaluable lessons and “words to live by” that guided Violet throughout her life. She shared an unbreakable bond with her six sisters and remained best friends for life, although sadly, she was preceded in death by all her siblings and their spouses.

Violet’s journey led her to a loving marriage with Dick Boothe. Violet’s nurturing spirit found fulfillment in motherhood. She enjoyed caring for her family and maintaining a comfortable, orderly home.  Gardening, sharing meals with loved ones, and showering affection on babies, children, and pets brought her immense joy. As a lover of sunshine and fresh air, Violet could often be found with her windows open. She marveled at the resilience of birds and found solace in their sweet songs. Her fondest memories included time spent on the shores of the Pacific Ocean.

Violet and Dick were together for 50 years until his passing in 2005. Afterward, she came to Moab. She enjoyed being close to her daughters, Gloria and Patty, and their families and was awed by the natural beauty of these surroundings. She was happy here.

Violet leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her eight children, 18 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her close to their hearts. Her children are: Clifford Boothe, Patty Jones, Joni Lyman (Mike), Gloria Topliss, Vincent Boothe (Felicia), Jeani Mortimore (Dan), Julie Johnsson (Rolf), and Leone Beisinger (Mark).

A heartfelt thank you goes to the caregivers at Canyonlands Care Center for kindly keeping Violet safe and comfortable during the last few months of her life.

Violet’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and simple joys. In honor of Violet’s memory, the family asks that you take a moment to appreciate the beauty around you and do something kind for a loved one, just as she did. Her spirit will live on through these acts and in the memories of those who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear mother, you will be deeply missed.Family and friends are welcome to share tributes online at SpanishValleyMortuary.com.
