Hello everyone. It’s your pal, Cosmo the library cat, hoping you are ready for some more great music! The Grand County Public Library is teaming up with the Moab Music Festival again to bring you a special Musical Story Hour, featuring the very cool band W4RP in a performance of Peter and the Wolf.
Come on down to Star Hall on Saturday, January 27 at 10:30 a.m. to experience this truly magical collaboration.
The story of Peter and the Wolf is about a boy who loves to explore the wilderness, meeting a host of animal friends along the way—including my distant cousin, Ivan the cat! Peter eventually meets a wolf, and needs his brave animal friends to help him stay safe. Each character in the story is represented by a musical theme, played on a different instrument.
W4RP is a chamber music ensemble consisting of Josh Henderson on violin, Ju-Young Lee on cello, Mikael Darmaine on piano and Rick Martinez on drums. W4RP’s repertoire ranges from traditional classical to their own original compositions and virtuoso arrangements. W4RP has performed worldwide, making their mark on the classical music scene with their energizing performances. Musical Story Hour is free and is presented in partnership with the Moab Music Festival and Grand County Public Library, with additional funding from the City of Moab,The Synergy Company and Canyonlands Copy Center. This Musical Story Hour is part of the Moab Music Festival’s 8th annual Winterlude series, and is a great event for children and their caregivers. All ages are welcome. I hope to see you there!
