Marilyn Jean Beck died unexpectedly on December 22, 2023, at her home in La Sal, Utah, from natural causes.
Marilyn was born on November 10, 1954, in Leadville, Colorado, as the daughter of Betty Jean Beck and Thomas Earl Beck. She graduated from Grand County High School in 1973, then continued her education at Mesa State College and Colorado Mountain College, where she received degrees in teaching, computers and accounting.
She is survived by two stepchildren, Lonnie (Herron) Roman and Daniel Herron, both residing in Minnesota; and her two brothers, Ron E. Beck and Bruce L. Beck of Moab; their children, Amanda and Tommy Beck of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Arielle and Dylan Beck of Moab; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her dog, Roxie.
Marilyn always had a smile for everyone she met along the way. She always remembered everyone’s birthdays and holidays and gave a gift of some kind. She had a heart as big as the sky. She loved animals and they loved her because most of the time she had pockets full of treats. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. It will be hard to fill the void left by her passing.
The family is having her cremated and planning a memorial sometime in spring, no definite date set yet. We will notify family and friends as soon as we know. God Bless.
