Linda Louise McLaughlin, 76, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023 at Canyonlands Care Center in Moab, Utah with family by her side.
Linda was born July 31, 1947 in North Braddock, Pennsylvania to Melvin Fleming and Marjorie Morris Hazen. Linda attended Hempfield Senior High School where she graduated in 1965 and later met her first husband Melvin Menz. They had a son together, Keith Paul Menz, born May 1967, and they later divorced. Linda married George C McLaughlin Jr. and moved to Moab in 1974 to be with family. In August 1978, she gave birth to her second son, George C McLaughlin III.
Linda worked in housekeeping and front desk roles, mainly as a night auditor, so she became somewhat of a night owl. She retired in 2010 and enjoyed her remaining years as a devoted mother and grandmother. She also kept her many passions that included photography, crocheting, crafts, reading, telling stories of her past, and boasting about her family and her two Italian greyhounds, Sammie and Tinkerbell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Marjorie Hazen, son Keith Menz, and brother Paul Hazen.
She is survived by her son George C McLaughlin III (Crystal), their three daughters Samantha, Chelsey, and Cassandra, and four great grandchildren Konnor, Tarek, Joceline, and Sabastian.
Linda will be missed and remembered by many. A special thank you to the Canyonlands Care Center staff who took such great care of Linda in her final stages of life and made her feel loved and like family.
At Linda’s request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
