Hello and a friendly meow to everyone, it’s Cosmo the library cat. Today I’m here to invite you to a party. But before I do, I want to relate a thrilling tale—a mystery that I, Cosmo, managed to solve all by myself! When I observed that the teen computers had vanished from the Grand County Public Library earlier this summer, I flexed my keen powers of observation and deductive reasoning to find out what happened. My search of the library turned up a single clue—directions to the library’s new Teen Center in the Moab Community Resource Center (121 W. 200 S.)!
The Teen Center is a place for teens that’s safe and comfortable, where there’s no need for constant shushing! There’s ping pong and crafts, board games and puzzles, Xboxes and a Nintendo Switch, Virtual Reality headsets and a 3D printer, AND those 10 computers that mysteriously disappeared? Case closed! Oh, and did I mention there are always free snacks? It’s open Monday through Friday from 12 to 8 p.m. for the rest of the summer, and then 3 (2 on Fridays) to 8 p.m. once school starts. Personally, if I were a human in middle or high school, I’d walk or bike or take the Moab Area Transit right over there and check it out!
And now that the human librarians are all settled into their new space, the Teen Center is having a Big Welcome Party this month! It will be held on Friday, August 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. Drop in for free food and games and see what all the fuss is about! Families of teens are welcome to attend as well. Now if someone would just bring me over to the party, I’d really like to try my paw at ping pong and have a slice of pizza!
