Don was born on March 15, 1970, to Marvin and Vivian Hopkinsin Moab. He passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2023.
Don was a father, brother, son, husband, and the world’s best Papa. He had four daughters: Stormi (Nathan), Samantha (Swain), Destani, and Dawn. Don had eight grandkids: Donovan, Kyson, Elizabeth, Billy, and Devin from Stormi and Nathan; and Xavianna, Lillyanna, and Thauron belonging to Samantha and Swain. He was happily married to his wife, Jalaine, for 9 years. Don has two older brothers, Del (Shanessa) and Willy (Genia), and one younger sister, Lynn (Ray).
Don was a free-spirited soul who chased the oil rigs for many of his younger years. Don was in the oil fields until 2012, when his two older daughters decided he was getting too old for that line of work. After that, he found several other jobs but the one he really loved was doing maintenance at the Moab Golf Course.
Don was known and loved by many. He was known for the kindness in his soul. Don would give anyone in need the shirt off his back or his last dollar. Don loved to be outdoors with his family and friends. He was the glue in his family. There was never a dull moment when Don was around. He was always laughing and joking, making everyone around him smile.
A wonderful husband, amazing papa, outstanding dad and brother: He will be missed. We knew he was at peace when his three guardian angels–Mom, Dad, and Grandpa Ezra–walked him through the gates of heaven. May he guide his family and friends on Earth until they reunite.
