This week, a long Grand County Commission meeting included a discussion of the High Density Housing Overlay, an ordinance created in 2018 to promote affordable housing for the Grand County workforce, offering developers the ability to build more units but requiring that ownership be restricted to local workers.
Elected officials also approved a handful of partnerships and projects from the Grand County Economic Development Department, which is spending down funds that had been set aside for economic diversification projects using diverted tourism tax money. State legislation passed this year terminated that diversification funding after July 1.
