Schools: May students of the month!

Congrats to the Helen M. Knight Elementary School students of the month. Pictured, from left to right, are kindergartener Santiago Quioz-Martinez, first-grader Yeimi Carmona Aguero, second-grader Trinity Ashurst, Principal Jill Tatton, third-grader Tenney Jensen, fourth-grader Brynlee Dooley, fifth-grader Rock Bishop, and sixth-grader Dayanna Barragan.

Staff at Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School have named Dakota Dull and Chloe Byrd as the school’s students of the month.

Teachers say that seventh-grader Dakota Dull is mature, kind and thoughtful and works hard in all of her classes. She puts effort into completing her assignments and is easy to work with. Teachers see her support her friends and encourage those around her to do their best by leading as an example. Dakota loves horseback riding and has her own horses. Her favorite color is black and she has two best friends. Dakota loves animals and has a few pets at home, along with one sibling. Her advice to her fellow classmates: “Be nice to everyone!”

Eighth-grader Chloe Byrd takes pride in her work and is always looking to improve. Teachers say that she often asks for feedback if she misses things on her assignments. Chloe strives to do her best in everything she attempts. She makes insightful comments in discussions and is always ready to help others. Chloe sets a high standard for herself and attains it. Her interests are travel and seeing the world, and she’d like to go to Greece someday. Chloe plays the piano and four different sports. She likes writing essays and stories and her favorite color is purple. Chloe’s advice to others? “Enjoy the butterflies!”

Congratulations, Dakota and Chloe!
