Alice Marie Day Byrnes of Moab passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on Friday, January 13, 2023, in the home that she and her companion, Garth, built. Alice was born at home on July 13, 1931, to Anna and Irvin Day in Old La Sal, Utah. She leaves behind her sister, Dorothy Anderson; her children, Verd (Kathy) Byrnes, Victor (Debra) Byrnes, Merry Byrnes, Rob (Shannon) Byrnes, and Shane Tangren (stepson); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her companion of 38 years, Garth Tangren; as well as her parents, two brothers, three sisters, one granddaughter, and one grandson. Alice loved growing roses, putting together puzzles, dancing, taking pictures, and spending time on the mountain and with her family.
Alice wished to be cremated and the family will have a celebration of life in the spring.
