Moab’s Annie Thomas named Southern Utah Entrepreneur of the Year

Annie Thomas runs three local organizations—Sego Lily Children’s Garden, Our Village Community Center, and Pedego Moab— and was honored for all her work by the Women’s Business Center of Utah, which named her 2022 Southern Utah Entrepreneur of the Year.

Thomas has worked as an entrepreneur for over 25 years, starting several small sewing businesses, childcare programs, a deli, and most recently opening Pedego, an electric bike business, with her husband and in-laws. She started the nonprofit Our Village Community Center in 2018 to connect families to education, health, and sustainability support and saved a 5-acre farm from development, as well as created a home for Sego Lily Children’s Garden preschool.

Sarah Barstow, WBCUtah’s southern business advisor, said that Thomas also took third place in the organization’s annual pitch competition, winning a $3000 grant for Sego Lily to purchase new educational equipment.

She has an entrepreneurial spirit, but her goal is always to support her community,” Barstow  said.
