Cosmo’s Corner: Fall style tips from Moab’s coolest cat

Cosmo is laying on a bookcase, with a sweater photoshopped onto him.

Hello and meow, my friends! It is I, your favorite library cat and culture forecaster, Cosmo. Have you noticed that the leaves are turning colors and the days are getting shorter? Change is in the air and that means one thing: time to say goodbye to summer fads and make room for fall fashions! Luckily for you, I have a keen eye for style, and I’m here to keep you on trend.

Cosmo’s 2022 Fall Style Guide

Out: Laser pointers. In: Ribbon on a stick. You can’t go wrong with a simple, elegant classic like this.

Out: Wandering around aimlessly looking for a Wifi signal.  In: Checking out a hotspot from the Grand County Public Library. These useful devices never go out of style and let you access the internet from anywhere you can get a cellphone signal.

Out: Summer night adventures. In: Afternoon naps on a stone wall that has been gently warmed by the rays of the sun.

Out: The Ocean. The Grand County Public Library’s ocean-themed  summer reading challenge was fun while it lasted but it’s time to move on. In: Outer space! If you haven’t signed up for our fall reading challenge yet, what are you waiting for? The focus for fall is NASA’s Artemis project. In addition to earning prizes for reading, there are fun activities based on the new generation of crewed spaceflight.

Out: Reading bland books. In: Reading banned books! September is Banned Books month and the librarians have put together a display of books that have been banned and challenged in other communities. Come by and find your new favorite!

Out: Dogs. In: Telling your favorite library cat what a handsome boy he is.
