Richard Allen Duran, Nov. 6, 1960 — June 24, 2019

After fighting a brief but brave battle with cancer, Richard Allen Duran was surrounded by family at his home in Cortez, Colorado, as he passed on June 14.  He was born in Fairfield, California, to Richard Duran and Lauretta Duran. He graduated from Grand County High School; he lived a lot of his life in Moab. For the past 20 years Duran had been working as a foreman in maintenance, security and mason for Indian Camp Ranch in Cortez, a job in which he was very proud. He accomplished the reconstruction of many Native American ancient structures which will stand and preserve his legacy for many years to come. Duran is survived by sister Beth Sheets; brother Bill Duran; sister Charity (Stacy) Randall and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his mother Lauretta Duran and father Richard Duran. Services are pending.
