On Friday, May 3, the Emery County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) announced in a press release that on the afternoon of Thursday, May 2, ECSO Dispatch Center received a report of a body being found in Emery County.
The press release stated that detectives responded to the scene and the deceased has been identified as 61-year-old William Randy Jones of Price, Utah.
A second press release on Monday, May 6, said the case was being treated as a homicide. “ECSO personnel have been working diligently the past few days identifying person(s) of interest and conducting interviews,” the press release said. “The investigation is ongoing and search warrants are being prepared.”
