Grand County High School freshman Arthur Hawks handles the ball in the team’s regular season finale versus Manti on Thursday, April 25. Grand County High School (GCHS) Red Devils won the match 2-0 with goals from Kane Scherer and Miguel Dominguez. The win, along with another 2-0 victory at Emery on Tuesday, April 23, in which Nolan Ramirez and Juan Gonzales found the net, led the Red Devils to a 12-1-1 record and the Region 15 Championship. GCHS was scheduled to host Carbon (4-11-2) in the first round of the UHSAA Utah State 3A Boys Soccer Championship on Wednesday, May 1. With a victory, GCHS would advance to play either Providence Hall or South Summit in a quarterfinal match in Moab on Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m.
