Bobby Gene Brookshier, May 7, 1929 – Jan. 21, 2019

On Monday, Jan. 21, family, friends and the community lost a loved one who touched and enriched so many lives. Bobby Gene Brookshier was born on May 7, 1929, in the Texas Panhandle to Homer and Violet Durham. She was the fourth of their eight children.

She married William Loyd Brookshier on March 16, 1946. They were blessed with four children: Loyd, Ronnie, Lois and Joyce. She was a proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Brookshier was a longtime resident of Moab. She retired from the National Park Service, where she was a park ranger who enjoyed sharing her knowledge of the area she loved. After retirement, she maintained a very active lifestyle, including travel and doubling the size of her home to accommodate all of her family and friends.

Family and friends will miss her, and the cherished memories each of them have of her will live on in all of their hearts.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
