Nellie “Joy” Greenhalgh (Randall), age 83, returned to her heavenly peace on Oct. 23, peacefully at the Canyonlands Care Center in Moab. Joy was born on Jan. 29, 1935. in St. George. She was the youngest and the only daughter of Brigham Randall and Bell Randall (Ostensen).
Joy married Dorel Greenhalgh on Sept. 7, 1952, in Las Vegas, and they settled in Henderson, Nevada, where she became a nurse and worked at St. Rose De Lima Hospital for many years and raised four children. She was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints choir. And she loved to sew, garden and do arts and crafts. Joy moved to Moab in 2012 to be cared for by her grandson, George Greenhalgh.
She is survived by her children, Darlene Novello, Randy (Sherry) Greenhalgh and Claire Greenhalgh. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dorel Greenhalgh; beloved daughter, Joy Lynn LeBlanc; her parents, Brigham and Bell; and two brothers, June and Burke Randall.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, at the Enterprise cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Enterprise Stake Center on East Center Street in Enterprise.
