Two locals have been inducted into the Huntsman World Senior Games Hall of Fame. The Utah Summer Games Track and Field meet was held on June 22 and 23. Wendy Dickson (right) won gold in 100-meter javelin, shotput, and discus. Andy Pitas won gold in 100-meter and long jump.
On Oct. 10 Dickson and Pitas will be inducted into the Huntsman World Senior Games Hall of Fame in St. George. In the 30-year history of the HWSG, over 200,000 people have competed from as many as 54 countries in 30 or so sporting events. “The hall of fame has about 300 or fewer members, so it is quite an honor to be selected,” Pitas said.
