“Public art makes art accessible to everyone, not just the privileged few,” Ekaterina Tatarovich Harrison said. Harrison is a Moab-area artist whose sculpture located on the Mill Creek Parkway was damaged recently. The Moab City Police Department said it is investigating the incident and declined to release further information. Harrison said the sculptures that she makes are a part of the ArTTrails program and are on loan to the City of Moab for one year. “This public art program is a real asset to Moab and was set up with genuine desire to share with and involve the community,” Harrison said. “I hope it will grow and that we can all find a way to engage with each other more positively and respectfully.” [Photo courtesy of Ekaterina Tatarovich Harrison]
