William “Bruce” Negley, 83, passed away on March 19, 2018 at the Moab Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Bruce was born on August 2, 1934, to Merlyn and Emmarae Negley in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bruce attended elementary school in Salt Lake City, and in Gunnison, Colorado. He graduated from Gunnison High School and Western State College, earning both BA and MA degrees.
He married Patricia Ann Murry on December 29, 1958, and the couple moved to Moab, Utah, where he began his teaching career. Mr. Negley also taught in Delta, Colorado, and Grand Junction, Colorado. He taught for a total of 40 years in secondary education.
Bruce is survived by his wife Patricia of Moab; three sons: Brett of Salt Lake City, Kevin (Toni) of Moab, and Kyle (Lori) of Sandy, Utah; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
At Bruce’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held later.
