Valley Voices chorus to offer Singing Valentines

The Valley Voices Barbershop Chorus will offer Singing Valentines on Wednesday, Feb. 14, in Moab and Spanish Valley.

For a cost of $10, each recipient will be serenaded with two songs, and will receive a carnation, along with a message from the giver.

Valley Voices has been offering Singing Valentines for 35 years, and over 1,000 valentines have been presented to loved ones in that time. The cost has remained the same through the years.

If you would like to give a Singing Valentine to that special someone, contact Mary Mayberry at 435-259-5767. Reservations are limited and the deadline is 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12. The proceeds will be used to pay rent on a chorus rehearsal space, and to help an area family in need at Christmas.

The Valley Voices is a women’s chorus, singing a cappella, four-part harmony in the barbershop style and has been together for 39 years. Over the years, the chorus has entertained visitors; performed at weddings, funerals, business openings and other special occasions; visited the Canyonlands Care Center; performed for Veterans’ Day ceremonies; led the annual Christmas Tree lighting carols; and performed at Christmas craft fairs.

The chorus is available for performances with a repertoire of songs for all occasions. Rehearsals are held each Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Church of Moab, 544 MiVida Drive.

If you are interested in joining the Valley Voices chorus, or want to schedule a performance, call Mary Mayberry at 435-259-5767.
