Sharon Hawkins, May 28, 1936 – January 21, 2018

Sharon “Sherry” Kay Hawkins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, “Granny” and friend to many, passed away on January 21, 2018, at the Canyonlands Care Center in Moab, Utah.

Sharon was born on May 28, 1936, in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, to John and Dorothy Holcomb. She married George Hawkins in Long Beach, California, on July 3, 1960, who preceded her in death in 2016. They moved to Moab in 1969. Sharon was employed at the telephone company, Atlas Minerals, and Adult Probation and Parole. Sharon loved her flowers, reading and playing cards, but most especially her granddaughters.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael and John Hawkins; four grandchildren, Brittany Hawkins, Kayla Hawkins, Kimberly Mogensen and Hailey Zeiler; and great-granddaughters Gracelynn Kenney and Renae Gay. She also loved and cared for her extended family, Dennis and Trish Mogensen; her dear friends, the Ballantyne family; Sue Axtell; and Betty Badger.

At Sharon’s request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
