Lyle Winston Davis, 84, of Moab, Utah, passed away on September 1, 2017.
Lyle was born on July 10, 1933, to Richard L. and Bessie N. Davis of Thompson Springs, Utah. He was the youngest of eight children: Kenneth Davis, Louise Westwood, Neva Dalton, Irene Wilcox, Homer Davis, Raymond Davis, and Richard Davis. Lyle attended Thompson Springs School and Grand County schools.
He married Helen Meredith Goudelock on October 14, 1953. His son Lyle Winston “Pete” Davis was born in 1954, and son Timothy Reynold Davis was born in 1958.
He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.
Lyle always called Moab and the surrounding area his home. He always enjoyed being outdoors, tending a garden and spending hours in the hills searching for rocks and fossils. He was a member of the Moab Elks Lodge and belonged to the F&AM Masonic Lodge in Grand County.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters; sons Timothy Reynold Davis and Lyle Winston “Pete” Davis; and wife Helen Goudelock Davis. He is survived by his granddaughter Aubrey Sage Davis, much-loved pup and his “Best Pal,” Frances, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 11 a.m. with an open house following the service at the family home.
