A local nonprofit is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual – or individuals – responsible for starting a small fire near the Mill Creek Power Dam parking lot.
Moab Solutions founder Sara Melnicoff said that someone set the blaze some time before midnight on Friday, July 14, in an area to the right of the parking lot. Moab Solutions is currently accepting donations to offset the expenses of the reward; if you would like to donate online, you can go to: www.moab-solutions.org. Melnicoff and others plan to revegetate the area with native seeds in the next couple of weeks. If you would like to volunteer to help, you can sign up on an email list at www.millcreekpartnership.net.
