RS-2477 is still on

Dear Editor,

Despite my earlier column expressing my gratitude that the RS-2477 controversy over roads on BLM-administrated lands had been settled, I recently received word from one of the attorneys in the office handling that dispute that there has been no agreement with the BLM about the more than 12,000 roads under litigation in 22 counties of Utah (“R.I.P., RS 2477 controversy,” Feb. 9-15, 2017 Moab Sun News). So, there was a misunderstanding somewhere along the way.

I guess I now go back to my original opinion that I would be dead and gone before this issue is ever settled. I guess you could call it misplaced hope on my part.
