Connor Craig Denney, at the tender age of 16, left us suddenly on March 5, 2017, in Moab, Utah.
Connor was born on July 13, 2000, in Moab to Steven Denney and Loni Hayes.
Connor considered everyone he met as his friend. He was confident, adventurous, and ready for anything. He welcomed challenges. With his courage and love of life, he knew he could conquer the obstacles he faced in his life and win, leaving behind great memories.
Connor lived life in the moment. Yesterday was his past with memories he kept and savored, tomorrow was something he looked forward to, but his heart and soul remained in the now, present, where he grasped and lived every second life offered him to the fullest. His ability to live life the way he did was a gift to all who were close to him. Through Connor we saw life’s light in the twinkle of his eyes, we heard it in his contagious laughter, we felt it in his infectious smile, and even touched it as he melted our hearts with his love.
Connor loved playing sports and was known to say baseball was his sport. Baseball, like life, has no clock. No time limit – you know there is an end to the game, but never know exactly when. The goal in baseball, as in life, is to make it home. Connor reached his goal. He’s home.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at the Grand County High School baseball field. Burial of his ashes followed at the Grand Valley Cemetery.
