November 9th: There is despair in the country – even within our Grand County bubble. Listening, as we usually do, to PBS’s Newshour recently, my husband and I were struck by Mark Shields’ comment to the effect that: There are three things that are good for America, but we don’t know it yet. Those three things are immigration, globalization and feminism.
The election of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States is a direct affront to thinkers like Shields and to all humans who are concerned about the planet and about our future as a caring world leader.
Can we survive what is to become a recurring nightmare?
