Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, stopped by The Spoke for lunch on Monday, Aug. 29, during a whirlwind visit to Moab and San Juan County.
Following a quick tour of the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project site, Chaffetz vowed to continue his work with Rep. Grace Napolitano, D-California, and others to restore funding for the project.
Chaffetz also touted his proposed bill that would transfer law enforcement powers on federal lands from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S. Forest Service to county sheriffs.
