Community Artist in the Parks Madeline Logowitz sketched images near Arches National Park’s Pine Tree Arch on Friday, Aug. 12.
The Community Artist in the Parks program gives park visitors opportunities to witness the results of artistic inspiration derived from the natural world, and to interact with the artist.
Logowitz will be back on the trails at Canyonlands National Park’s Needles District on Friday, Aug. 26. From 8 to 11 a.m., she’ll be sketching away along the Slickrock Trail, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., she’ll be at the Needles Visitor Center.
Logowitz often interacts with visitors from faraway places, but she always welcomes local residents to join her.
Admission to the park – and to all national parks and national monuments – is free from Thursday, Aug. 25, through Sunday, Aug. 28, in commemoration of the National Park Service’s 100th birthday.
