Grand County High School activities director Ron Dolphin recently received an award for Meritorious Service from the Utah Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (UIAAA) during the organization’s annual conference in St. George.

The award recognizes honorees for their “exemplary service and dedication to the high school athletes of Utah.”

Dolphin, a 1988 graduate of Grand County High School, became the school’s activities director in 1999.

He received his Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) designation in 2009, and also received the UIAAA’s “Activities Director of the Year” award in 2010.

After he received the award, Dolphin said, “I’m so blessed to have parents who taught me what service is, Southern Utah University for giving me the tools to serve, the UIAAA and principals I have worked with to provide me the opportunity to serve, and my wife Melonie and our children for giving me all the support to serve Grand County High, the Moab community and this great state of Utah.”
