Franklin Dewey Gines, April 10, 1936 – November 4, 2015

Franklin Dewey Gines, passed away at the age of 79 on November 4, 2015, in Moab.

He was born on April 10, 1936, in Tabiona, Utah, to Henry Bearl and Genevieve Ivie Gines. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps at an early age and served to 1960.

He married his sweetheart, Odetta Ostrander, in Moab on April 11, 1963. They shared more than 52 years of life together.

He was a member of the LDS Church. Odetta and Dewey were eternally sealed in the Jordan River LDS Temple on December 9, 2000.

He is survived by his his wife, Odettta; two sons: Dennis of Monticello and Troy of Taylorsville; two daughters: Cheryl of Moab and Leslie of Eagle Mountain; one brother: Cloyd of West Valley, and three sisters: Ellen Fern of Minnesota, Ivy Noorlander of Moab, Elzada Ashby of Draper. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister: Henry Bearl, Genevieve Ivie, Buddy and Oleta.

Funeral services were held on November 9 at the Moab Stake Center. Interment will be held at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
