A memorial service will be held for John Randall Young at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at the Dewey Bridge on state Route 128. It will be followed by a picnic lunch for family and friends.
John passed away on July 24, 2014 in Fort Worth, Texas, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Montrose, Colorado, on August 28, 1954, to Max and Beryl Caine Young.
He is survived by his wife Paula; his daughter Kayli (Cory) Williams; children Colton, Tyler and Misty; his mother Beryl Hughes; stepdaughters Rachael and Sarah; brothers Howard, Wade, Kevin and James (Kit); sisters Debbi, Ellen and Jody; and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father Max; stepson James; nephews Lucas and Eric; niece Sarah and his grandparents.
John loved woodworking, making Southwest furniture and toys for his grandkids. He had the love of adventure, and he loved to tell stories to anyone who would listen. There was never a dull moment with him.
