Keith Paul Menz, 47, a longtime resident of Moab, died September 30, 2014, at his residence with his loving wife and family by his side.
Keith was born May 23, 1967 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, to Melvin and Linda Hazen Menz. At the age of 7, he moved out west to the little town of Moab with his family where the next chapters of life would unfold.
Among the many occupations he worked, he found his passion in cooking and became one of the best cooks around feeding locals and tourists from all around the world!
Keith had many passions, which included hiking, biking, music, video games and the great outdoors. His greatest passion was being with his family and loved ones.
Keith was taken from this world long before his time due to the terrible disease of cancer and was preceded in death by his grandparents Melvin and Marjorie Hazen, his birth father Melvin Menz, his uncle Paul Hazen and stepfather George C. McLaughlin Jr.
Keith became a widower at a young age with his first wife. In the next years of his life, he met his soul mate Pam Shepherd Menz, whom he married and is leaving behind, along with her three children Julianne, Zakk and Alexis.
Among others he is leaving behind is mother Linda Menz McLaughlin, a brother George C. McLaughlin III, along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many close personal friends. Although he is now gone he will live forever in our thoughts and very precious memories; We Love You Keith!
A Graveside Service was held Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2651 Spanish Valley Dr. A viewing was held Friday Oct. 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Spanish Valley Mortuary.
