Calvin Walter Burton, 78, of Moab passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012.
Cal was born to the late Biram and Daisy Burton on Nov. 4, 1934, in Lowndesville, South Carolina. Cal married the late Barbara (Fetters) Burton of Moab in 1983. Both were members of the Community Church of Moab.
Known as “Whistling Cal”, he was a professional house painter for nearly 40 years, until his retirement. He had a great passion for electronics and videography. Something he greatly enjoyed sharing with others. Cal lived the good life, having been both a carnie with the circus and a movie stunt man in his younger years – he enjoyed entertaining people. In his later years he took to writing short stories, and sharing them with his friends and family, both in person and online.
Cal is survived by his children: Joyce Bivens, of Bakersfield, Calif.; Ray Fetters Jr., and Jan Radcliff, of Moab. He is also is survived by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
