Veronica Ostrovka Hutnik

Veronica Ostrovka Hutnik was born to John and Anna Ostrovka Hutnik in Johnstown, Penn. Hutnik attended the American University in Washington. DC and later she served as a secretary for the Naval Department and the Persian Embassy in Washington, DC.

She enjoyed beauty pageants and ballroom dancing, but most of all she loved her Lord and the Russian Orthodox Church. Hutnik traveled the world with her only child, daughter Maryanna, while Maryanna served in the USAF.

Hutnik is survived by daughter Maryanna Hutnik , son-in-law Charles R. Zimmerman, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings John A. Hutnik, Anna (Hutnik) Pollock, Helen and Pauline who died in infancy, and other family members in Czechoslovaiha.

A vigil service was held Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at the Spanish Valley Mortuary in Moab. A Holy Mass will be held at Christ The Saviour Cathedral in Johnstown, Penn.
