The ballot is now set for Moab’s 2025 municipal election. Voters will choose between two candidates for mayor and three candidates for two open city council seats.
Incumbent Mayor Joette Langianese is seeking re-election, challenged by former Grand County Commissioner Curtis Wells. On the city council side, incumbent Councilmember Jason Taylor is joined on the ballot by local contractor Miles Loftin and Howard Trenholme, a Moab Tourism Advisory Board member.
Councilmember Luke Wojciechowski is not seeking re-election. He told the Moab Sun News that He and his partner are expecting their first child this summer, and he says he’s looking forward to focusing on being a dad once his term ends.
All offices are at-large, nonpartisan, and carry four-year terms.
The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, and will be conducted entirely by mail. Registered Moab voters will receive ballots in the mail ahead of Election Day.
To qualify, all candidates must be U.S. citizens, registered voters in Moab, and have resided in the city for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the election. Individuals with certain felony convictions may be disqualified unless their voting rights have been restored.
