The Red Rock 4-Wheelers honored Erin and KL Young as the 2024 Red Rock 4-Wheelers of the Year at their annual holiday dinner on January 18th, recognizing their decades of service to the club and the Moab community.
Based in Moab, the Red Rock 4-Wheelers are best known for hosting the popular annual Easter Jeep Safari and Labor Day Jeep Safari. The club also plays a pivotal role in promoting responsible off-roading and the stewardship of public lands in the region.
Erin and KL, both raised in Moab, have long been a part of the Red Rock 4-Wheelers community. Their involvement began in their youth, and after getting married and starting a family, they became active members in 1990.
Over the years, they have volunteered in nearly every capacity imaginable within the club. Notably, they have taken on leadership roles, including KL’s work as a club director and Erin’s tenure as club secretary. The couple has also led some of the most challenging trails, including taking charge of the Big Saturday Trail on Pritchett Canyon during the club’s annual events.
“As long-time members and residents of the area, Erin and KL understand the unique challenges we face and have our community’s future at heart,” club leaders said in a press statement. Leaders praised the Young family’s community spirit, commenting that the couple’s passion for Moab’s natural beauty and off-road heritage has been passed down to their children.
