Meow and bonjour from Cosmo the Library Cat! As you may have observed, I do not travel much; I prefer relaxing in my comfortable home at Grand County Public Library.
This summer was a little different however. My librarians and I invited you to take me (in the form of a Cosmo bookmark, shirt or sticker) along on your summer adventures, to snap a photo of my handsome visage in whatever exotic locale you were visiting (whether literal or literary), and share it with our “How Far Can Cosmo Go?” display. And wow, did you deliver! You fun-loving folks have taken me along to some fantastic places: on riverside picnics and boat rides on lakes! You took me all around the Four Corners area, to Florida and even Wisconsin. You took pictures of me visiting a charming Parisian bookstore, and Helsinki’s famous Oodi Library, not to mention exploring in Berlin, Copenhagen and Stockholm! There’s even a photo of me floating around in outer space – the final frontier! This delightful display is posted right by the Moab Library’s front desk, and you can come take a look any time the library is open, until the end of August.
Speaking of endings, our Summer Reading Program is almost over! You have till midnight on Sunday, August 11 to log any time you’ve spent reading and get those hard-earned tickets in the prize drawings of your choice.
I’m sending out an enormous THANK YOU to everyone who took me along on your adventures. You’ve inspired me to get out a little more…perhaps I’ll take a river trip down Cat-aract Canyon or maybe even book a flight on Feline Airlines for a trip to Cat-mandu. Adios, amigos!
