Obituary: Seth Ketterer

On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, Seth Jud Ketterer passed away at home due to health complications at the age of 40. Seth was very well known for lending a helping hand to anyone at any time. If he were able to do it, it would be done.

Seth was born on August 27, 1982, to Paul and Louise Ketterer in Fennimore, Wisconsin. This is where he grew up and graduated high school in 2001. He furthered his education and became a certified diesel technician. He started his career in Highland, Wisconsin, followed by Steamboat Springs, Colorado, before ending up in Moab. Seth always had a passion for vehicles and making sure they ran perfectly. He was so knowledgeable in this field and naturally talented at everything else he tried.

Seth loved anything that had to do with the outdoors: hunting, fishing, truck rides into the mountains, going to the shooting range and hitting the golf course whenever he got the chance. He had the most amazing personality and sense of humor; we were always laughing around him.

Seth loved and was so dedicated to his Moab and Wisconsin families; his beautiful daughter, Haylee Jo Ketterer-Day; and his fiancée, Jessica, and their fur babies. There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t tell Jessica how much he loved her, appreciated her, and that he couldn’t make it in this world without her. She knew he meant it because he made sure that she knew it and believed it. He was her comforter, protector, and the love of her life.

He is survived by his (to him) wife, Jessica Melo; his 3 fur babies, Shylo, Rebel, and Chloe; his mother and father-in-law, Marnie and George Melo; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Mikey and Christy Melo, Robert and Rachel Melo, Hailee and CheChe Campos, Taylor and Charielle Melo; his many nieces and nephews, Mercedes, Mary, Harry, Mylee, Barrett Melo, and Mateo Campos; his friends-like-brothers, Casey Johnston and George Srisomsak.

There will be a get-together/celebration of life on Saturday, December 17 at the Spanish Valley Mortuary (386 N. 100 West, Moab) from 2 to 5 p.m. Please join us and share your favorite memories of Seth to show him just how incredibly loved he was.
