Obituary: Marioliver Migliaccio

Marioliver Dochia Sowers Bowerman Migliaccio was born in Concordia, Kansas, on July 11, 1926, as the daughter of Major Baldwin Sowers and Julia Marie Agatha Grand Pre. She died on September 22, 2022, in the home of Von and Cindy Bowerman.

Marioliver married Leroy Bowerman on September 13, 1945. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1971. She later married to Frank Migliaccio on April 18, 1981. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1987.

Marioliver (commonly known as Mom, Paulyo, Polly, Grandma, Grandma Dochia, Granny, and Granny-Great) lived in Concordia, Kansas, until the age of 13 when she and her family moved to Glendale, Arizona.

Paulyo and her family worked in the vegetable fields during the Depression. During World War II, she and her mother repaired warplanes. She met Leroy Bowerman during this time and the two married after the war. While raising four children, their life followed the adventures of the uranium industry throughout Colorado and Utah before settling in Green River, Utah. In Green River, Polly worked as a school lunch manager and baker in local restaurants. She became famous for her giant delicious cinnamon “Polly Rolls.” Later in life, she grew and sold melons. Mother had a passion for art, family, and clothes. She always laughed from her heart.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Tom) of Eatonville, WA; her two sons, Von (Cindy) of Green River and Paul (Jeannine) of Logandale, Nevada; and her 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Marioliver was preceded in death by her son, Larry Bowerman; her granddaughter, Katina Bowerman; great-granddaughter Taylor Johnson; her sisters, Dolly Crosby and Dixie Longshore; and brother, Major Sowers.

As a family, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Mom’s son and daughter-in-law, Von and Cindy Bowerman, for their many years of dedication and beautiful, unconditional care for our mother, Marioliver.  Also, a big thanks to Tyler and Shannon from the Green River Clinic for all their care.

Funeral services were held on September 26, 2022, with burial at the Elgin Cemetery in Green River. You may send condolences to the family at www.spanishvalleymortuary.com.
