Cosmo’s Corner: Musical Story Hour at Swanny City Park

Cosmo is laying on a couch in the children's section of the library.

Meowdy partners, this is Cosmo, the Library Cat! Four times each year, the Grand County Public Library teams up with the Moab Music Festival for a special Musical Story Hour. Our next Musical Story Hour is on Saturday, July 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Swanny City Park and will feature local musicians David Steward and Glenn Sherrill!

Glenn is a bass-playing retired park ranger and David yodels and sings, plays guitar, and writes songs. As far as I know, they don’t have any songs about cats, which is an unfortunate oversight, but I’ve heard they can play just about everything else, from traditional cowboy songs to bluegrass, jazz, and rock and roll. They’ve played all over Moab and we’re excited that they’re bringing their hand-clapping, paw-stomping musical stylings to this month’s Story Hour!

Our program is geared towards newborns to early elementary schoolers and their caregivers (but all ages are welcome!) The Musical Story Hour is always free, so if you like stories, songs, and sing-alongs, this event is for you. July’s Musical Story Hour is made possible with support from The Synergy Company and the City of Moab. See you there!
