Ribbon-cutting at the Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School

A middle school student walks up to a line of adults, most of them school district employees or local leaders, who are holding a large red ribbon.

Staff, students and community members celebrated the new Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School and honored the school’s namesake on Thursday, April 21. Superintendent Taryn Kay, Hogan Construction representative Cris Hogan, MHTN Architects representative Brian Parker, and Grand County School Board President Melissa Byrd all spoke about the significance of the new building before joining other school board members and a group of Honor Society students looked on as Honor Society President James Holyoak had the honor of cutting the ribbon to formally welcome the community to the school.
