the Rural Utah Project x Working Films present PUBLIC TRUST

Join the Rural Utah Project and Working Films for an in-person, outdoor screening of PUBLIC TRUST: THE FIGHT FOR AMERICA’S PUBLIC LANDS (2020).

From Patagonia, producers Producers Robert Redford & Yvon Chouinard, and director David Garrett Byars, PUBLIC TRUST depicts the grassroots battles for public lands in the United States. From the Bears Ears National Monument to the Boundary Waters to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, protections for our natural resources and cultural heritage is under attack. Follow the activists and residents working to protect the places they live and recreate. 

In advance of the screening, join local leaders in a panel discussion of the local fight for public lands. Former San Juan County Commissioner Mark Maryboy, Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance staff attorney Kya Marienfeld, and Grand County Commissioner Kevin Walker will discuss how we can be locally proactive in defending the protections for our region.

Panel discussion begins at 7pm. Film screening follows.
