Hospital programs help patients with medical bills

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Moab Regional Hospital is focused on carrying out its mission: “Our dedicated team puts the patient first, delivers quality cost-effective healthcare, and promotes wellness to all we serve.”

The hospital has been working on the “quality cost-effective healthcare” part of their mission statement and recently created two new positions to serve community members that may need help paying medical bills.

Staff in these positions, known as Financial Navigators, are available at no extra charge to help patients figure out what financial aid programs they may qualify for. They can be reached at 435.719.5526.

Additionally, MRH has simplified their financial aid application and streamlined the approval process. Any patient that is having difficulty paying medical bills, whether insured or not, is encouraged to apply for financial aid. Applications are available online at mrhmoab.org/financial aid or at the hospital.

As part of MRH’s financial aid application, patients must first apply for Medicaid – and Financial Navigators are available to help with the process. Even if denied through Medicaid, the hospital’s internal financial aid program may provide other options for financial assistance. Patients with health insurance coverage may also be eligible for financial aid to assist with co-pays and deductibles.

Every patient at MRH is entitled to a prompt pay discount of twenty percent (20%) if their first statement is paid within 30 days of the statement date.
