Letter to the Editor: A Christmas Gift

Dear Editor:

Moab and neighboring communities have participated for the past nine years in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse.

In 2018, over 10.6 million shoebox gifts were collected worldwide. The shoeboxes are packed with hygiene items, school supplies and toys. However, the most important gift received by the children is this tangible demonstration of God’s love.

The Community Church of Moab (544 Mi Vida Drive) is the area’s Drop-Off location for those that wish to donate. We will begin collecting filled shoeboxes on Monday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Monday, Nov. 25, we will be open from 8-10 a.m. only.

Empty shoeboxes and gift ideas are available. For more information, please call Donna Hofmann at 435-259-4505 or call the church office at 435-259-7319.

Thank you for considering supporting this wonderful ministry. For many children, these are the first gifts they have ever received.
