Smart Shelter Network gave recognition to Moab City Mayor Emily Niehaus for her outstanding 15-year commitment as the former director and founder of Community Rebuilds at a Feb. 26 meeting. Community Rebuilds now has 36 owner assisted, energy efficient, straw-bale homes. Smart Shelter Network Executive Director Gary Duncan presented a Lifetime Achievement Award in sustainability and natural Building. Smart Shelter has a 25 year track record of its own in pursuit of longterm healthier home solutions for the builder and occupant.
