Training for remote wilderness safety

The Wilderness Medicine Institute of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) held a Wilderness First Responder training in Moab on Friday, Jan. 25. The course focused on remote medicine and medical services in instances when access to medical care is delayed or communication is unreliable. The average age of the students in the Moab class was 33, and the students came with experience levels that ranged from no medical training to nurse practitioner. [Photo by Murice D.
