American Fork flintknapper Bo Earls (seated right) has been shaping stone through flintknapping for over a decade. During the Rock, Gem and Mineral Show at the Old Spanish Trail Arena on Sunday, Oct. 14, he made a custom flint knife for Todd (standing center) and Petenia (standing left) Pfnister of Moab. Earls said he was inspired to learn the skill of flintknapping when he was in college and saw the crafted stone knives sold at the stores in Moab. Today, Earls’ company is called Flint Knives by Bo.
