Mayor Niehaus attends White House conference

Moab Mayor Emily Niehaus (front row, center, wearing scarf) was one of six Utah mayors invited by the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs to participate in the Women Mayors of America White House Conference on Thursday, Sept. 20. In a press release about the conference, the Utah League of Cities and Towns (ULCT) said the event and said the conference focused on discussing issues of concern in cities across the nation. Niehaus was elected on Sept. 14 to the board of directors of ULCT. After touring the White House, the mayors spent the afternoon hearing from Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, the U.S. Department of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and assistant to the President, Kellyanne Conway.
