FAA visits Canyonlands Field Airport

Canyonlands Field Airport Director Judd Hill (left) met with engineers, electricians and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Wednesday, Sept. 12, to work on the official calibration of the runway lights. The precision approach path indicator lights let pilots know they are coming in on a correct approach angle for landing, Hill said. Hill said the FAA flew overhead, making possible landing approaches to verify that the Canyonlands Field Airport’s system is set up for safe approaches regardless of which direction the flight is coming in.
